Long-Range Shooting Ranges in the Mid-Atlantic Region

Finding a place to shoot past 300 or 500 yards can be harder than finding the rifle, optic, or ammunition to do it. For this guide, we’re focusing on facilities offering established shooting distances of at least 600 yards, with many extending to 1,000 yards or beyond.

Long-range facilities tend to be spread out, membership rules vary considerably, and some of the best ranges are tucked well outside major population centers. This guide brings together long-range shooting clubs and facilities across the Mid-Atlantic that offer meaningful distance without functioning primarily as traditional firearm retailers.

The goal is simple: make it easier to find places where shooters can actually stretch their equipment and skills.

Facility rules, availability, membership requirements, and range distances can change. Check directly with the range before making the drive.

Before You Make the Drive

Long-range ranges tend to operate differently from conventional public shooting facilities. Some require membership. Others open their longest firing lines only during scheduled events or under supervision. Military installations may have separate access requirements, and some clubs require a qualification or endorsement before using their longest range.

Before heading out, confirm:

  • current operating hours
  • membership or guest requirements
  • whether the long-range portion is actually open that day
  • caliber or velocity restrictions
  • required qualification or orientation
  • match or event schedules

A quick website check or phone call can save a very long drive.
